Sowing the seeds for the future of Moore County

MCHF Annual Spring Scholarship Luncheon

May 24th, 2017

The Moore County Health Foundation 2nd annual Spring Scholarship Luncheon has come and gone, and we all had such a lovely time!

We were able to raise over $10,000 to add to the RN Scholarship endowment fund that provides scholarships to students who are enrolled in the Registered Nurse program at the Moore County campus of Amarillo College.  Last year's luncheon raised over $10,000 for the fund, with additional funds from the 2016 Harvest bringing the current endowment to well over $100,000!

The luncheon consisted of a delicious catered fiesta-themed lunch and our speaker this year was  Katharyn Wiegand, the Vice-President of Community Investment of the Amarillo Area Foundation, who shared her story as to why nurses are special to her.

With the funds we have raised for this endowment, we have already awarded seven scholarships to Moore County students this past Summer semester, and now we are opening up the scholarship application for the Fall semester to encourage even more students to go into the important field of nursing.

A special thank you to all our generous sponsors who helped make this dream a reality!  You truly are helping to make Moore County an even better place to live!
